Our family first aid kit has been minus a working thermometer for a while. I wanted an in-ear device that didn't require wasteful plastic hygiene caps for it to work. The numbers are big and clear on a bright, blue, backlit screen. It is super easy to use: press button for a few seconds until it turns on, place in ear, press button, wait a second for it to beep, take out of ear, read numbers, clean tip. It reads to one decimal place (eg 37.5) and picked up where one ear was a bit hotter than the other. Overall a sturdy and sensible product.
